MONRE’s planning and management strategy should be synchronous and its economic and technical norms should correspond to reality, he said.
Mr Hai asked the ministry to boost the application of advanced technologies in completing its strategies in all fields, promote basic investigation to provide information for the formulation of socio-economic development policies, and maintain security and national defense.
He also urged the ministry to take the initiative to expand international cooperation and speed up global integration to attract more foreign-invested programs, and to strengthen inspection of the implementation of laws related to its management.
According to MONRE Minister Nguyen Minh Quang, over the past ten years, the ministry has submitted to the government 16 projects and issued 36 circulars to reinforce the organizational structure of natural resources and environment agencies at all levels.
It has also launched 153 projects, many of which have achieved positive results, helping increase productivity, quality, and the effectiveness of basic investigation.
Minister Quang also said his ministry has promoted cooperation with developed countries in the region, and worked closely with reputable organizations such as ASEM, UNDP, and UNDP in order to improve its capacity to deal with climate change.
