On January 25, which was the fourth day of Tet holiday, many boats full of shrimp arrived at Giao Hai fish port in Giao Thuy District.
Fisherman Tran Van Duan said that he caught 10 kilos of sentinel crabs, nine kilos of mantis shrimp, and five kilos of shrimp after just 10 hours.
"I used a small boat for the short trips catching crab and shrimp," he said. "They are in high demand for Tet parties so we sell them at very good prices."
Another fisherman, Tran Thi Luyen, said that she earned VND5 million after a 13-hour trip.
"Mantis shrimp is a popular food during Tet holiday while the prices are high," Luyen said. "So we decided to set off our boats during the holiday to have better income."
The fishermen believe that those good trips are positive signs for a good 2023 lunar year.
