According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, at 1 pm on November 1, Storm Nalgae, the seventh storm in the East Sea this year, was some 550 kilometres from the northeast of the Paracel Islands with a wind speed of 103-133km per hour.

In the following 24-60 hours, the storm would weaken into a tropical low-pressure front in the north of the East Sea and not affect mainland Vietnam.

After this storm, the East Sea would struggle with 1-2 typhoons in November which would also strike the Vietnamese mainland.

Vietnam has witnessed three tropical storms over the past month, which resulted in flooding and erosion that severely damaged the country's coastline
