Targets for rice exports for the Mekong Delta region have been set at 5.5 million tonnes, a 1.78% decrease from last year.

Exports from the region are expected to account for about 90% of the national total rice exports during the year.
These exports will be shipped to various markets, including Asia, Africa, the European Union (EU) and Northern America.
This year the entire region is expected to produce between 21 million and 22 million tonnes of rice.
Last year the total rice exports amounted to 5.6 million tonnes, valued at USD2.6 billion.
