The forest management board of Dinh Quan District co-operated with some concerned units to help the man and chased the elephants away.
Liem was then quickly taken to Dinh Quan District’s General Hospital for treatment. He has been discharged from hospital.
According to local authorities of Dinh Quan District, they will boost communication activities to ask residents not to release their cattle in areas which elephants often visit. People were also advised not to stay in fields late and sleep in tents in fields at night.
Staff will be mobilised to closely monitor elephants to warn people. Thanh Son Commune will be protected with electric fences to avoid being disturbed by wild elephants.
