Dao Quang Ha, 24, from the northern province of Thai Binh left Hanoi on April 5 with an old bicycle adorned with a fluttering red national flag.
He went through Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An. On April 9, he reached the central province of Ha Tinh, saying that if everything goes as planned, he would arrive at HCM City on April 21.

According to Ha, he experienced knee pain during the first three days as his body was still adjusting to long-distance cycling. He thought he might have to give up. However, after a check-up and some medication, the pain eased, allowing him to continue his journey.
The idea for the trip came to him just two weeks before departure. With little time for preparation, he packed light and quickly fixed up his old bicycle.
“The bicycle belonged to my late grandfather. While most would opt for a mountain or road bicycle for such a long journey, I still chose it because it reminds me of my beloved grandfather,” Ha added.

He has ever travelled across the country by motorbike
Ha’s family and friends have been supportive of his journey because this isn’t the first time he’s taken on a long solo trip. Earlier, he travelled across the country by motorbike and even spent over half a year walking to different localities in the country to discover the country’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.
Notably, during his cross-country walk last year, Quang Ha visited Dien Bien Province in time for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. He had the chance to help transport loudspeakers for the parade and marching teams.
The man also hopes to participate in various activities leading up to the coming Reunification Day (April 30) anniversary celebration in HCM City.
Upon arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, he plans to stay with local families, just as he did on his previous journeys.
