HCM City traffic police help residents cross flooded road

Traffic police in HCM City used a specialised truck to help residents and their motorbikes cross a heavily flooded road after torrential rain caused severe disruptions on June 2.

Heavy rainfall inundated Nguyen Anh Thu Street in Trung My Tay Ward, leaving many vehicles stranded and making travel difficult for local residents.

Officers from the An Suong Traffic Police Team were deployed to the scene to direct traffic, warn motorists of hazardous areas and assist people whose vehicles had stalled in the floodwaters.

At the deepest flooded section, police used a specialised truck to transport residents and their motorbikes across the affected area. Officers also helped load and unload vehicles to ensure people could continue their journeys safely.

In addition to assisting motorists, the traffic police increased patrols and diverted traffic to reduce congestion.

Residents were advised to avoid travelling through deeply flooded areas to prevent accidents and damage to vehicles.
