People at the job exchange floor at HCM City Tourism Festival 2023
The information was disclosed at a job exchange floor which was held within the framework of the HCM City Tourism Festival 2023 from April 6-9.
Many job vacancies were announced at the event including sales and marketing managers, communications officers, customer care officers, bartenders, and cooks, among others with monthly salaries ranging between VND6-15 million.
At one of the booths, the Ramana Saigon Hotel wanted to employ 50 staff members for positions including receptionists, sales, and those working at their rooms, restaurants and kitchens.
The South Korean Monapark Yong Pyong Group also announced nearly 50 job vacancies for similar positions. They said that candidates with experience could work in South Korea.
Speaking at the event, the deputy director of the HCM City Tourism Association, Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, said that the local tourism industry had seen a robust development since the end of 2022 and early 2023. The city received over one million foreign tourists and over seven million domestic visitors in the first quarter of this year, with revenues reaching VND 36.11 trillion.
“However, the tourism industry is facing a big challenge posed by employee shortages following the Covid-19 pandemic," the official said. "So we decided to organise this job fair which is expected to help tourism firms find new and suitable employees. The event was also an opportunity for 34 participating tourism training schools to properly connect with firms in their training activities."
