According to An, the public bicycle rental service has been put into use in HCM City’s District 1 since December 2021 with around 500 bicycles and 52 rental spots. To date, as many as 305,000 people have registered accounts for the service. Nearly 473,000 trips with a total of 2.1 million kilometres have been conducted, equal to 1,100 trips per day.

Most of the service users are aged between 18-34, including many students.
HCM City has pioneered the implementation of public bicycle rental service, followed by Vung Tau City, Hai Duong City, Quy Nhon City in Binh Dinh, Hanoi, Haiphong and Danang.
An added that the city has planned to expand the service in Thu Duc City and other districts.
He also noted that the city will pilot the opening of exclusive bicycle lanes on several local streets and arrange spots for people to put their bicycles.
