Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City is expected to serve a record number of nearly 145,000 passengers on January 26, the sixth day of the 2023 Tet Lunar New Year Holiday.

According to the airport, there will be 913 flights operating on January 26, transporting 144,871 passengers. This is the highest number of passengers recorded so far at Tan Son Nhat, surpassing the previous record of 137,000 passengers a day earlier.
As expected, the airport will welcome more than 3.8 million passengers with nearly 27,000 flights during the holiday, an increase of nearly 10 percent compared to the same period in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nguyen Nam Tien, Deputy Director of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport, said the airport has prepared plans to meet the upcoming high demand.
All units have been asked to pay attention to monitor flight schedules, frequency and density of flight operations in each time frame and arrange personnel to ensure airport services.
Airlines and ground service units have been required to increase personnel to guide and support passengers in a bid to prevent flight delays.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said it will enhance aviation security during the holiday.
