Hanoi police on January 14 conducted a rehearsal of motorcade escort and vehicle deployment plans in preparation for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party.
Police said the plans were implemented in a coordinated and systematic manner to guarantee absolute security and safety, maintain smooth traffic flow and minimise disruption to the daily lives of residents.
The rehearsal involved full participation from police and military forces, with traffic police playing a central role in escorting and guiding delegations from hotel clusters and accommodation sites to the National Convention Centre in Tu Liem Ward, as well as to other related venues.
At the same time, local police units were reinforced at event locations, delegate accommodation areas and along routes used by the motorcades.

To ensure traffic order and safety during the congress, Hanoi police have rolled out traffic diversion plans on several key routes.
Specifically, during the time slots from 5.30 am to 11.30 am on January 14, and from 6 am to 8.30 am, 10.30 am to noon, 1 pm to 2 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm from January 19 to January 25, traffic police will temporarily ban standard trucks, specialised trucks and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more from operating on multiple roads around the National Convention Centre and along motorcade routes.
On several other roads, authorities will impose traffic restrictions on the same categories of vehicles to reduce traffic density and ensure the safe movement of delegations.
