Hanoi seizes suspected counterfeit fashion goods worth over USD 16,000

Authorities in Hanoi have seized 2,635 suspected counterfeit fashion items bearing major global brands after inspecting a shop in the city's Old Quarter.

Market surveillance authorities in Hanoi have temporarily seized 2,635 fashion products suspected of infringing the trademarks of The North Face, Nike and Adidas from a retail store on Hang Dao Street, with a listed value of more than VND 417 million (approximately USD 16,000).

According to the Hanoi Market Surveillance Department, inspectors conducted an inspection at a fashion store at 30 Hang Dao Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi, on June 24. They discovered 2,635 clothing, footwear and fashion accessories displaying signs of counterfeiting the trademarks of The North Face, Nike and Adidas, all of which are protected in Vietnam.

The entire shipment was found to lack invoices or documentation proving its lawful origin. Based on the store's listed prices, the goods were valued at more than VND 417 million (approximately USD 16,000).

During the inspection, the business owner presented a household business registration certificate issued by the Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee on August 18, 2025, which matched the registered business location.

Authorities have temporarily confiscated all 2,635 items while they continue investigating the suspected trademark violations.
