
Many areas in the central province of Ha Tinh are deeply flooded in torrential heavy rains on October 30.
The rains, which were triggered by a low tropical pressure, have caused waters to sharply rise in local rivers and lakes.
In Huong Khe District, the Ho Ho Hydropower Reservoir had to release water from 2 am on Monday, submerging many roads.
Rescue forces had to assist thousands of children home from school at noon as the flood water rose high on local roads.
Many areas in Can Loc, Cam Xuyen districts have also been deeply submerged and local authorities are calling on people to ensure safe travelling and ensure their belongings are safely stored.

Erosion at a rail track in Vu Quang District
In the mountainous district of Vu Quang, a section of the north-south railway line faced erosion early Monday morning. Trains have been suspended while local authorities repair the track.
Many local houses have also been flooded.
Heavy rain is forecasted to last for some more days in the central region.
