Four fishing boats were badly damaged by a fire overnight, causing losses estimated at several billion VND in the central province of Quang Ngai.
The blaze broke out at about 1 am on January 15 in Binh Son Commune, initially engulfing one fishing boat before quickly spreading to three others moored nearby.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and brought the fire under control by around 6 am.
Local officials said three of the damaged boats belonged to fishermen from Binh Son Commune, while the fourth was owned by a fisherman from neighbouring Van Tuong Commune.
Two vessels were almost completely destroyed, one suffered damage of more than 70 per cent, and another was partially damaged.
Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
