According to the Institute of Earth Sciences under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the first earthquake, measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale, struck Tra Linh Commune of Danang at 12.11 am on September 21.

About 26 minutes later, at 12.37 am, a magnitude 2.8 earthquake occurred in Mang But Commune of Quang Ngai Province.
At 3.38 am, a magnitude 2.7 earthquake was recorded in Tra Tan Commune of Danang.
The fourth earthquake struck Mang But Commune in Quang Ngai Province at 4.20 am, measuring 3.0. It was the strongest of the four earthquakes recorded that morning.
The four earthquakes, ranging from magnitude 2.6 to 3.0, all had focal depths of about 8.1km and were classified as posing a level-zero natural disaster risk.
The Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Earth Sciences is continuing to monitor seismic activity in the area.
