Thirty-two outstanding prisoners in the central province of Nghe An's prison have been granted amnesty on the occasion of Tet.

Prisoners had their sentences commuted
Of the total, 12 prisoners benefited from amnesty and the rest was provided with a commutation of their imprisonment terms for their great rehabilitation efforts.
The prisoners were provided with free transport to return home for the Tet holiday.
Former prisoner Ta Thi Lien said, "I'm very happy to have received a commuted sentence and being allowed to return back home for Tet. Last year, I experienced my first Tet in prison, so I've tried my best to correct my mistakes."
The amnesty policies have actively encouraged prisoners to improve their behaviour.
Former prisoner Sam Van Bang shared, "This year I will make it up to my family, I'll try to give them a warm Tet. Although life is still hard, I won’t make mistakes again."
