A foreign tourist has been hospitalised after being bitten by a dog in the southern central province of Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang City.
According to local authorities, on Sunday morning, while two foreign travellers were walking on Road 23/10 in Nha Trang City’s Vinh Hiep Commune, they were attacked by a dog that weighs around 20 kilos.

The dog ran away after being chased by local residents. One of the two foreigners was injured and taken to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for emergency care.
The 19-year-old victim whose nationality remains unknown, was hospitalised in the state of suffering from two injuries in his right hand, one being 8cm wide and the other 10cm wide. He also faced a biceps tendon tear in his right arm as well as some injuries in his left arm.
According to Doctor Tran Bao Anh, the victim had to undergo surgery and has been moved to the Orthopedic Trauma Centre to be monitored. His condition has improved.
Nha Trang authorities will work with the dog owner on the case and have vowed to strictly deal with unleashed dogs in public places.
