Flood and landslide wrecks Yen Bai

Buried trucks and destroyed roads have been revealed after the road leading to Tram Tau District in Yen Bai Province was reopened after floods on October 13.

Buried trucks and destroyed roads have been revealed after the road leading to Tram Tau District in Yen Bai Province was reopened after floods on October 13.

The road was severely damaged by various landslides. Some sections were swept away and dozens of trucks were buried under the mud. The authorities have to use bamboo sticks as temporary barriers for the muddy path.

Rocks and dirt still keep falling onto the road so the excavators had to work constantly. Some people took advantage of the situation to take the timber and wood that was swept downstream.

Despite the effort to clean up the road, it remains difficult to travel through Tram Tau District.

Also on the same day, the body of a 3-year-old child who drowned in the flood in Tram Tau District was found.
