Five expressway sections set to open by late April

Five sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway project are scheduled to be put into operation by the coming Reunification Day (April 30), the Ministry of Construction has said.

The Bai Vot-Ham Nghi expressway section 

The Bai Vot-Ham Nghi section (35.28 km), Ham Nghi-Vung Ang (54.2 km), and Bung-Van Ninh (48.84 km) is slated for operational from April 28.

Meanwhile, a 70.3-kilometre part of the Van Phong-Nha Trang section is slated to open on April 19.

As for the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway covering a total of 57.8 kilometres, a completed stretch of 18.32 kilometres will be put into use on April 28.

The Ministry of Construction plans to open the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, which links Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, this month.

The Eastern North-South Expressway starts from Huu Nghi Border Gate in the northern province of Lang Son to the southernmost province of Ca Mau with a length of 2,063 kilometres. 

To date, 1,206 kilometres of the Eastern North-South Expressway route has been put into use.
