Driver fined for hiding number plate with chicken coop

A driver in Cao Bang Province has been fined VND 23 million (USD 872) for covering his car’s number plate with a chicken coop.

Traffic police spotted the 37-year-old man on December 5 driving with a coop hanging from the rear of his vehicle, completely obscuring the registration plate.

After being summoned for questioning he was issued an administrative fine and a six-point deduction from his licence.

Authorities said concealing number plates obstructs monitoring and enforcement and poses serious safety risks, urging motorists not to alter, cover or tamper with vehicle plates.
