Many households had to use pumps to deal with the inundation. In particular, 25 houses have their roof blown off, including up to 23 in Cho Gao District. Roof repairs are expected to be completed today.

Local authorities are collating a list of losses from each household to provide the necessary support.

On June 22, heavy rain with violent wind damaged 28 other houses in Go Cong Tay District and Go Cong Town, causing losses valued at VND380 million (USD16,379).

So far this year, eight whirlwinds have occurred in Tien Giang, harming around 80 hectares of crops and rice and 167 houses, causing VND4.6 billions-worth of damage.
