Ngo Van Vinh, head of the Dong Nai Forest Protection Board, said rangers had recently set traps and caught several wild monkeys in Bien Hoa’s former centre. Teams are continuing to place traps at eateries and cafés where the animals often appear and have attacked passers-by.

A wild monkey spotted at an eatery on Vo Thi Sau Street
On the morning of December 8, a woman from Tam Hiep Ward was bitten by a wild monkey while having breakfast at a restaurant on Vo Thi Sau Street. She later sought preventive treatment at a vaccination clinic.
Loan, the restaurant owner, said wild monkeys have appeared in the area for months, with around four regularly approaching eateries along the street. Many customers have been attacked, and she has reported the incidents to ward authorities and forest rangers.
Local officials in Tran Bien Ward said they had deployed staff to assess the situation and sought support from the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment. The ward also instructed local militia to set traps to capture the monkeys for handover to authorities
