The incident occurred in the forest on Prenn Pass at around 9 o’clock. The fire quickly spread across the forest due to the dry weather.

Dozens of firefighters and forest rangers were sent to the scene immediately. However, because of the hilly terrain and the rapid spread of fire, the rescue force encountered difficulties in controlling the blaze.
People several kilometres from the forest could also see the fire.
Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, vice chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee oversaw the rescue.
The flames were brought under control around 11 pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
