
Over the past five years, the event has collected large amounts of blood from thousands of donors.
In 2012 alone, the country received 912,310 units of blood, 17 percent of which came from Hanoi.
The “Red Spring festival”, the sixth of its kind, pays an important role in easing blood shortages in hospitals, especially during summer and Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.
So far, the festival has been launched in 34 cities and provinces across the country, drawing the participation of thousands of famous artists, beauty queens, and comedians.
