Hanoi-HCM City flights have had many empty seats and a single ticket has declined to VND2.50 million (USD102).
Flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has reduced return tickets on the Hanoi-HCM City route during the weekend on March 15-17 to VND3.80 million (USD154). Meanwhile, the price is VND3.90 million and VND3.60 million for VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways’ flights respectively.
Return Haiphong/Thanh Hoa/Vinh flights to HCM City cost around VND3 million each on weekends. Around 15 days ago, these flights had no economy tickets available.
Airfares from Hanoi to Nha Trang, Da Lat or Phu Quoc have sharply fallen to some VND3.40 million, VND3.50 million and VND3.60 million, respectively.
According to some agents, the domestic tourism market has entered low season. Air tickets will increase again in June.
Taking advantage of lower air tickets, many people have booked tours.
