On May 5 and 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in France worked with the airlines and French authorities to organise a repatriation flight mostly consisting of children, the elderly and people with underlying conditions.
The Vietnamese Embassy in France and the Vietnamese helped deal with requests such as completing procedures, providing necessities, and moving to the airports.
After the flight landed at Van Don Airport, everyone was tested and brought to quarantine areas. On May 5, Vietnam Airlines took medical equipment to France.
Vietnam will continue to organise more repatriation flights depending on demand, quarantine capacity and the threat posed by Covid-19.
