Vietnam registered additional 38.1 million phone subscribers in the first 11 months of the year, an increase of 6.1% from the same period of last year.

Of the sum, mobile phone subscribers account for 37.3 million and land-line subscribers 786,500. This is a rise of 8.1% for mobile users but a drop of 44.3% for land-line subscribers for the year.
As of late November the country had 163.7 million phone subscribers, up 39.7% against the same period of last year. The figure includes 147.3 million mobile phone users and equals 90% of the total, up 44.8% for the year. There are currently 16.4 million land-line subscribers, up 6% from last year.
Currently, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has 86.6 million customers, up 35.8% on-year, including 11.7 million land-line subscribers and 74.9 million mobile phone users, up 2.4% and 43.1% from a year earlier respectively.
Between January and November, Vietnam had 3.7 million new Internet users, 29.1% higher than a year ago, including 2.6 million subscribing to VNPT, up 25.5% on the year.
As of November, the number of Internet users in Vietnam reached 27.3 million, up 21.3% compared to that of the same period of 2009.
Total net revenues of the Vietnamese post and telecom industry rose 26.8% earning VND119.7 trillion (USD5.98 billion) by the eleventh month of this year with VND76.9 trillion (USD3.84 billion) made by VNPT, up 23.5% on the year.
