Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits and extends Lunar New Year 2025 greetings to officers and staff of the People’s Public Security force on January 27.
During his address at the Department of Security Investigations, the PM emphasized the crucial role of the police in maintaining political security, public order, and safety, protecting the peaceful lives of the people, and creating a favourable environment for the country’s socio-economic development.
According to the PM, Vietnam is striving to achieve 8% GDP growth in 2025 to create momentum for double-digit growth in the future. It will also promote new growth drivers such as science, technology, and digital transformation while revitalizing traditional drivers like investment, consumption, and exports. In this context, he said the police must better perform its role to create a conducive environment for national development.
He stated that while the whole country is currently implementing the policy of streamlining the apparatus, hostile forces and opportunists are always looking for ways to sabotage, cause division and disunity in society. He asked the force to stay highly vigilant and clearly understand the nature of hostile forces, reactionary organizations, politically dissatisfied and opportunistic elements, so as to come up with rapid response and preventive measures for the sake of social stability and people’s lives.
To build a strong force, he asked it to develop elite personnel, advanced technology, and modern methodologies for security work; accelerate digital transformation and data management to enhance effectiveness; and focus on public outreach, legal guidance, and ensuring inclusive development.
The most important tasks is to secure national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while defeating hostile plots, he said.
The Prime Minister praised the Department of Security Investigations for its achievements and urged it to uphold the heroic traditions of the People’s Public Security force and make leading efforts in safeguarding national security in the era of innovation and digital transformation.
The PM also visited and assigned tasks to the Administrative Management Police Department on the same day.
