Over the past three years, Mai Hue in Binh Thanh District has run the market every two weeks on her three-floor house’s terrace. The 20 square-metre market has thousands of pots of different kinds of small plants. It is open from morning to 3 pm.
"I have a great love for gardening, so I decided to set up the shop to look for those who have the same hobby. The shop helps to take care of young plants for people. The tree owners can come to the shop to exchange plants. People can also be given free plants at the market.
Besides culinary herbs, succulents and cactus plants account for a large number of the market’s plants.
Before the market is opened, participants can write down the kinds of plants they want on a piece of paper based on the market menu.
Then people are called in large numbers to get the plants they want.
Some members of the market’s management board assisted Mai Hue in giving the plants to people.
Phuong, 61, in Go Vap District brought to the market with an aglaonema red and received a peace lily.
