Some streets around President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum including Chua Mot Cot (One Pillar Pagoda), Ong Ich Khiem and part of Hung Vuong - have become the first three pedestrian walkways in Hanoi.

The Hanoi Department of Transportation banned all vehicles from driving on these streets as from May 19, except for some special cases.

Vehicles of organisations, offices and individuals who work and live within the area will be granted permission from the relevant agency but must run at a speed of no more than 15km per hour.

Others applying for access to the pedestrian streets will be decided by the Management Board of the Mausoleum.
