The dredging of Hoan Kiem Lake has been almost finished and is expected to finish ahead of schedule. Hanoi has also planned to use water from nearby wells to pour into the lake.
While Hanoi is experiencing bone-chilling cold, hundreds of workers from Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company have been focusing on the cleanup of Hoan Kiem Lake, aiming to complete the work before schedule on February 7.
The dredge of Hoan Kiem Lake almost finished
To date, around 97% of the lake’s mud has been dredged, equal to 57,000 cubic metres.
The mud will be transported to the dumping ground in Yen My Commune, Thanh Tri District
According to the company, three to four months after being dredged, the company will take the lake’s water samples to test. Redoxy - 3C products will also be used to treat the water.
The underground water around the lake area is quite good, so the company plans to use the water from nearby wells to pump into Hoan Kiem Lake.
The project which costs an estimated VND30 billion (USD1.33 million) started in July last year.
