Australia Awards are scholarships funded by the Australian Government and are available for Vietnamese citizens for master’s studies at Australian universities. The awards are for central, provincial and district-level agency officials (including mass organisations), staff of NGOs and Vietnamese companies, academics and researchers.

Australia Awards Scholarship awardees gain education in Australia across a range of areas, including agriculture, fisheries, forestry, digital transformation, education, environment, climate change and energy, governance and economic growth, gender equality, disability, health, regional stability and human rights.

Applicants are assessed on their professional and personal leadership attributes, academic competence and their potential to impact on development challenges in Vietnam and promote relationships between Vietnam and Australia.

Special support is provided to people with disability and people from disadvantaged rural areas to ensure equal access to the scholarships.

To date, the Australian Government has provided over 6,500 Australia Awards Scholarships for Vietnamese nationals to study in the country.
