National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines operated 9,875 flights, budget airline VietJet Air 10,134 flights, Bamboo Airways 1,174 flights, Pacific Airlines 32 flights, VASCO 689 flights and Vietravel 555 flights.
Up to 30.7 percent of flights run by Vietnamese airlines in June were delayed compared to a mere 17.8 percent in May.
Issues related to weather, air traffic management and airport equipment and services were the main reasons blamed for the delayed flights.
June marks the beginning of the peak summer season, during which airlines have increased flights to meet higher travel demand, particularly those from major cities to tourist destinations.
As many as 116 flights were cancelled in June, accounting for 0.5 percent.
In the first half of this year, the on-time flight rate was 75.7 percent and the delay rate was 24.3 percent.
