The animals have been sent to Thach An District Forest Rangers Station.
The catch was carried out after a local shared a video clip showing a kangaroo running along a local roadside.
According to the Duc Long Commune People's Committee, they caught the first kangaroo on the evening of November 8. Then local people saw two others the following day in the same area.
"We've sent a team to catch the three animals that weigh between 8-10 kilos," the committee said. "This is the first time we’ve found them in the area. We've transferred them to Thach An District Forest Rangers Station who will send them to the Hoang Lien Centre for Animal Rescue and Conservation."
Thach An District Forest Rangers Station said that the animals may be wallabies or mini kangaroos brought to Vietnam by some people to keep as pets.
