According to the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB), the route has received six of its ten trains. The seventh train is scheduled to arrive at Haiphong Port from France on July 17. The remaining three would be brought to Vietnam in October this year.
Hanoi’s Nhon-Hanoi Station metro project
On Thursday, the six trains will be operated on a trial basis on the line’s 8.5-kilometre elevated section, running from Nhon Depot area in Nam Tu Liem District to Station S8 in Cau Giay District. The work will be implemented by the project contractor’s international experts.
The Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line has a total length of 12.5 kilometres, including the 8.5-kilometre elevated section with eight stations and a four-kilometre underground section with four stations. The project is expected to be put into operation officially by the end of next year.
Around 73% of the project has been completed so far.
Earlier this year, the pilot operation of the first train of the route was also conducted on the length of five kilometres.
