Vietnam wins four more medals at ASIAD Games

The Vietnamese delegation snagged an additional four medals, raising its total to five at the 16th Asian Games (ASIAD).

After a bronze medal at Wushu, the country’s first medal at the event, the trio of female gunners Hong Ha, Thu Hang and Thanh Tu won a silver medal on November 15 at the 10m-distance shooting contest using mobile air rifles for women.

The Vietnamese girls scored 1,084 points and stood just behind the home team of China with 1,146 points. This is Vietnam’s first silver medal at the event.

In the afternoon, the Vietnamese mission received one more silver medal from male gunner Ha Minh Thanh and two more bronze medals; one from the male gunner team comprising of Bui Quang Nam, Ha Minh Thanh and Pham Anh Dat. The other by Wushu Artist Pham Quoc Khanh.

With two silver medal and three bronze medals, Vietnam has temporarily stood at the 15th place in terms of medal ranking at the 16th ASIAD Games, which include 45 teams in total.

The country also hopes to achieve medals at chess, billiards & snooker and Judo.
