According to Le Quang Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Hung Yen People's Committee, this year's festival would be especially significant as it would feature the presentation of a certificate recognising traditional knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen longans as national intangible cultural heritage.

He said exhibitions, communications activities and performances would highlight cultivation, care and processing techniques passed down through generations.

The province also plans to promote Hung Yen longans alongside cultural tourism, OCOP products and processed longan goods to strengthen links between heritage preservation, tourism and local economic development.

The festival will also feature a longan and local produce fair, while the provincial Department of Industry and Trade plans two livestream shopping sessions to promote longans and other local specialties.
