The ground breaking ceremony of the US Seafood Processing Plant
The project is invested by International Development & Investment Corporation (IDI).
The factory has a daily capacity of 120 tonnes of raw materials with an expected annual output of nearly 20,000 tonnes of frozen fillet fish. It is outfitted with fully imported production lines from Europe, featuring an automated feeding system and advanced freezing technology.
Construction is scheduled to last 12-14 months. Once finished, the plant will boost IDI's total processing capacity to more than 500 tonnes of raw materials per day.
Currently, Dong Thap is home to 28 businesses in the seafood processing industry, with a combined annual capacity exceeding 500,000 tonnes. These companies mostly focus on processing frozen cat fish fillets for export, contributing to nearly 40 percent of the country’s export value.
