A very dangerous activity of jumping from a power pole or cables into a pond has become popular among the youth in Ha Tinh Province.
Many people living at Cau Gia, Thach Lien Commune, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province are very concerned about many groups of secondary school students gathering at Cau Gia to climb up the power pole then jumping or even swinging from cables into a pond.
DTiNews reporters came to Cau Gia on August 9 and saw a group of 5 to 6 schoolboys who were climbing up a power pole to jump into the pond after accepting a dare. More dangerously, some even swung from overhead power cables and stood on power cables.
“Students often come here to jump from the power pole into the pond. Some have been injured or had their legs broken but nobody seems scared, they just keep doing it,” said a local.
Although this dangerous activity has been happening for some time, parents and local authorities have not issued any public warning or recommendation.
