On Friday morning, several people exercising along Vi Ba Road, which leads up Big Mountain in Vung Tau Ward, reported being chased and attacked in the early hours.

One female victim said she was bitten at about 6.30 am while walking as usual. The wound was deep and caused heavy bleeding, requiring stitches and several preventive injections at hospital.

Residents said wild monkeys frequently come down to the roadside in search of food. Despite reduced feeding in recent times, some animals have become aggressive, snatching belongings and attacking passers by, resulting in a number of minor injuries.

The situation has unsettled local people and affected daily routines, prompting calls for urgent intervention.

Local authorities have warned residents not to feed the monkeys and to avoid carrying bags or food when passing through the area. Relevant agencies have been asked to survey the site and propose measures to ensure public safety.
