The latest incident occurred on December 29, when Hoang Van Toi was attacked while working on his hillside field and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. Earlier, on December 24 and 26, Hoang Van Pao and Hoang Van Phong were also injured by the same animal.
Residents said the monkey has repeatedly appeared in agricultural areas of Coc Lac Hamlet. The animal is described as aggressive, showing no fear of people and often lying in wait before suddenly attacking.
Following the incidents, the Chieng Hac People’s Committee coordinated with Forest Protection Unit No 8 to visit the victims. Local authorities are urgently setting up a task force to drive away and deal with the monkey to ensure safety for residents and agricultural production.
