The plant can treat 400 tonnes of waste per day to generate around 5MW of electricity.

According to Mai Hung Dung, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee, waste treatment has been a challenging issue for many localities, including Binh Duong. So, the plant is expected to help effectively deal with solid household wastes.

Binh Duong has seen a sharp rise in household waste due to rapid urbanisation.

Over the past decade, Binh Duong has invested roughly VND12.1 trillion into waste treatment and water drainage projects. The capital has been sourced from the state budget and ODA (official development assistance) sources.
