Four years on from its global debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show (PMS), VinFast announced on October 7 that it will officially introduce its premium electric vehicle line-up covering segment B to E to the French market.
According to its plan, VinFast will bring four models - VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 - to the PMS 2022. This is the first time that the Vietnamese car manufacturer has officially introduced these electric vehicle models to the market.
Most notably, VF 6 and VF 7, respectively belonging to the B-segment and C-segment, are two models jointly designed by VinFast and Torino Design. Meanwhile, the Pininfarina-designed VF 8 and VF 9 models are the first two electric SUV models which will launch to the global market. VinFast's four all-electric models will come with a 10-year warranty, a move which will prove popular among consumers as it is one of the leading warranty policies available on the market.
Le Thi Thu Thuy, vice chairwoman of Vingroup and Global CEO of VinFast, said that the firm’s global debut at the 2018 PMS affirmed Vietnam’s capability to produce stellar cars.
VinFast’s return to the show this year aims to prove that Vietnam is not only capable of making cars but is also making a great leap forward as the world moves into an electrified revolution, according to the executive.
“We believe that VinFast's return with the positioning of an all-electric brand after a short time will be an inspirational story promoting the transition to sustainable mobility,” said Thuy.
The initial batch of 100 VF 8s were delivered to VinFast customers in Vietnam first, whilst approximately 5,000 VF 8s will be handed over to customers in international markets later this year.
VinFast’s global debut at the 2018 event put Vietnam on the world map of the automotive industry. At the show, VinFast introduced two gasoline-powered car models, Lux A and Lux SA 2.0, which attracted plenty of attention from the world's audience and press. VinFast was then awarded the "A Star is Born" title by AUTOBEST.
