Vietnam protests against all activities that encroach upon the country’s sovereignty, militarize and threaten peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, said Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh.
Binh made the statement on Friday while he was asked about Vietnam’s response to the satellite images released by the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative which shows that China appears to have deployed weapon systems on seven geographic features in the East Sea.
Vietnam is extremely concerned about this imagery, said the Spokesman, affirming Vietnam has sufficient legal foundation and historical evidence proving its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.
