The Vietnamese players held a training session today, January 2 and tomorrow will play a friendly match with Bahrain’ U23s.

On January 6, the Vietnamese team are set to travel to Buriram Province for clashes against UAE on January 11 and Jordan on January 13. They will meet North Korea on January 16 in Bangkok.
Vietnam won the silver medal at the 2018 AFC U23 Championships held in China.
The 2020 AFC U23 Championship is set to take place from January 8 to 26 across four stadiums in Thailand, with the participation of 16 teams.
Vietnam are in Group D together with the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and North Korea.
The continental championship also serves as a qualification event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the four best teams qualifying as AFC representatives.
