Nguyen Tan Anh, an official of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club, has confirmed he heard rumours that two Australian football clubs are evaluating recruiting talented player Cong Phuong.

“The two Australian football clubs who want to recruit Phuong are the Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners,” Anh said.
They watched Phuong play at the recent Southeast Asian Games in Singapore and anticipate he will compete professionally in the A.League Football Federation Australia (FFA) this October.
“I know two Australian football clubs want to recruit Cong Phuong, however try not to think about it. We have just focused on V.League play right now and don’t want our players to get distracted,” Anh said.
