Top Malaysian general visits Vietnam

The Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan Ariffin, is on an official visit to Vietnam.

The Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan Ariffin, is on an official visit to Vietnam.

The visit is made at the invitation of Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Khac Nghien.

Right after a welcoming ceremony in Hanoi on March 24, the two army officers held talks, discussing issues to contribute to enhancing solidarity and mutual understanding between people and armed forces of both countries for the purpose of peace and friendly cooperation in Southeast Asia and the world at large.

They also briefed each other on the political, socio-economic and defence-security situation in each country and issues of common concern.

The same day, the Malaysian defence forces chief and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh.
