Thien, placed 130th in the ITF Junior rankings, lost 6-7 and 6-7 to his No.50 rival in the boy’s singles event.
He will also pair with Thai player Koaykul in the boy’s doubles to face Australia’s Ahne and China’s Li in the 1/32 stage.
