Tapping on digital platforms to boost brand awareness

Digital media consumption is booming in the Vietnam market, and correspondingly marketers are increasingly using digital platforms in their campaigns. However, due to the lack of deep understanding of the effectiveness and measurement methods, many companies still find it a challenge to grasp the right way to do it. Especially since social media and search marketing became more prominent all over the world, understanding these new techniques and how to integrate them into the current marketing mix has become a critical factor in the success or failure of any business.

Pacific Conferences has organised a two day conference on “Social Media, Search & Digital Marketing Conference” which will be held on the 18 – 19 March 2010. This conference seeks to equip delegates with innovative consumer engagement strategies via digital platforms. Seasoned marketing experts from leading brands will share on best practices from the region and how to channel them back to Vietnam market.

Key essential topics such as Social Media Marketing (SMM), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), email marketing, mobile marketing and integration of online and offline platforms will be shared at the conference. These will be supported with case studies from top brands in FMCG, retail, telecommunication and other industries.

Conference speaker Michael J. Pease, General Director of Ford Vietnam commented that “effective utilisation of social media and digital marketing is the current biggest challenge for marketers. The new generation of consumers want communication that is targeted, relevant and real time. Finding the right way to communicate via digital and social media is not just a business need – It is an imperative for cost efficiency as well as communication effectiveness.” He will share about how Ford launched the New Fiesta globally and its implications on Vietnam market.

Nikolaus Ong, Digital Strategist of MRM Worldwide, will lead the half day training session on ‘How to Start and Do it Right’ for Social Media Marketing. On the current landscape of social media, search & digital marketing in Vietnam, Nikolaus believes that “like any other emerging market we see growth happening across each channel type, however, we could possibly see a ‘generation skip’ where the youth audience will fully embrace Web 2.0 without having to go through Web 1.0. Most, if not all, companies will face the social web as an unknown, and tapping onto the social web as a marketing channel will seem like a leap of faith.” He will share at this conference on how you can better prepare to best tap into this space and provide examples of how others have done successfully and even unsuccessfully in this marketing medium.

Delegates can expect to gain strategic insights into SMM and SEM to start their own marketing campaigns. Speakers will also share the best practices all over the world, from which delegates can draw implications to the Vietnam market and turn these insights into actionable strategies for their own companies.
