According to the Southern Hydro-Meteorological Station, the intensive hot weather started to spread on Sunday through the southeastern provinces and HCM City with temperatures rising to between 35-37 degrees Celsius.


Some parts of the southwestern provinces also faced the heat with temperatures of between 34-36 degrees Celsius.


It is forecasted that the hot weather will continue in southeastern provinces, half of the southwestern provinces and the northern part of HCM City in the next couple of days, the centre said.


The highest temperatures can be felt from 12-4 pm, reaching between 35-37 degrees Celsius, some parts in the southeastern provinces could experience temperatures higher than 37 degrees Celsius.

The heat wave is forecasted to ease on March 29. However, new heat waves may still arrive in the south with the most intense forecasted to hit in early April.
